Last December, Oakland artist Kevin Allen graced the Culture Makers stage as a panelist where we discussed the state of Oakland music and nightlife scene. I’ve been a fan of Allen since his days as Erk-Tha-Jerk and most recently for his collaborations under the Grand Nationxl hip-hop collective. Last year, I also got the chance to check out the album release party for Kevin Allen and Mani Draper called Every Blue Moon and was blown away by the production value and ambience of the event. This Thursday, Allen is hosting another party for the release of his album Don’t Overthink It. Consider this your advisory, Oakland hip-hop lovers, do not miss this event.
